The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) is the largest watch and jewellery buying group in the UK and Ireland. Supporting independent retail is at the heart of everything we do. Our objective, by working with leading independent retail jewellers and quality suppliers, is to protect high streets across the UK and Ireland and to support local retailers so that they remain where they belong – at the heart of every town centre. The buying power of the CMJ ensures that independent retailers benefit from marketing-leading commercial advantages, greater levels of product availability, and access to limited stock and exclusive product lines and deals. We reduce the amount of work retailers need to put into sourcing not only leading brands and products but also critical service and operational providers such as insurance and security, by doing this on their behalf. Our members also benefit from a single point of invoicing and payment each month, rather than having to co-ordinate individual administration with each supplier. We are individually strong. Together we thrive.

Jewellery designer Deborah Blyth began designing in 2004, and is known for her highly tactile, fluid pieces, which are created from start to finish in north London. Designs are hand-crafted through the process of lost wax casting in her studio, and stone setting takes place nearby in Hatton Garden. Blyth uses recycled silver and gold in all of the pieces. At the UK Jewellery Festival, Blyth will launch her new fine jewellery range, DB Fine. This comprises two collections crafted in 9ct recycled gold and using Ocean Diamonds: the Ocean Diamond collection, which uses raw diamonds, and the Nugget collection, which includes pieces set with melee Ocean Diamonds. Blyth collaborated with Cornwall’s Ocean Diamonds, specialists in sustainably sourced marine diamonds, to create the raw diamond jewellery collection.

Dialog is the world’s first subscription service for diamond retailers to merchandise their loose diamond inventory. Originally launched in November of 2020, Dialog is now in over 100 doors in Canada, the US, Australia, the UK and Ireland. Our team at Dialog works with each retailer to curate a perfect merchandise selection from the Dialog platform. Diamonds selected are then shipped to the store the very next day and can remain there indefinitely. The diamonds are always in the retailer’s store. The only cost is a monthly subscription fee. We created Dialog to provide jewellers a modern alternative to traditional diamond sourcing. Our purpose is to help retailers simplify their inventory so that they can focus on growing their business and connecting with their customers. The retailer does not pay for the diamond unless it sells. If an item is not turning, they can exchange it for another, like a library for diamonds. As soon as they report the sale on the Dialog platform, a similar replacement diamond can be shipped to their store the very next day. Their return on investment and available cash increases and aged inventory is no longer a negative pressure on their balance sheet, while having the perfect diamond inventory in their store for their clients. Retailers can rely on our best practices and expertise, quality control, inventory selection and efficiencies without leaving their store. We believe that the best time to make a sale is to have the right inventory in your store at the time a customer walks through those doors.

Wang’s first jewellery collection, Burial of Rose, was launched in 2020 during the pandemic, when there was almost no business and no way to get the brand out there through events and shows. However, thanks to Wang’s persistence, combined with word of mouth, her jewellery became known for its good quality. As the brand emerged from the pandemic, business began to grow, with retailer orders, bespoke commissions and personal requests. MG Diamonds Ltd was established in 2005 as a diamond wholesaler. By 2008, the business was growing rapidly and was already supplying more than 300 retail shops around the country. This prompted the start of a new venture, when, in late 2008, the business also moved into supplying pre-owned jewellery. MG Diamonds believed there was a gap in the market and a strong demand for it. MG Diamonds sells this jewellery for around 40% less than the equivalent new pieces, which in turn offers the consumer the chance to buy cheaper jewellery too. MG Diamonds also carries a large range of new jewellery, which includes popular items like tennis bracelets and necklaces, diamond studs and eternity rings. The company manufactures these in house enabling it to remain competitive on pricing.

PICTO is a small piece of Danish design history created in 1984 by two young hippies, Steen Georg Christensen and Erling Andersen. These two visionary designers wanted to challenge the traditional way of perceiving time, so in a time when everyone was talking about ‘time is money’ and ‘every minute counts’, they went in the opposite direction. With PICTO, time is not divided into minutes and seconds. The highly minimalistic watches have only one hand and a clean dial. In fact, PICTO is the world’s first wristwatch to display time as a pictogram – or an icon of time in perpetual motion. The hour is indicated by a dot on the rotating dial, while a conventional hand indicates the minutes. Brought to the UK Jewellery Festival by Copenhagen Watch Group, PICTO will present a range of its collections including its newly launched Ocean Ghost Net, made from upcycled fishing nets, which provides an interesting talking point and story to tell customers.
